    Larry G. Hornsby, CRNA currently works as the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Diversified Professionals, Inc. DPI is a CRNA owned business located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana providing anesthesia services to rural hospitals, ASCs, and office based practices. Mr. Hornsby along with Juan Quintana, DNP, CRNA co-own International Anesthesia Seminars, teaching online courses on the business of anesthesia directly to University based SRNAs and via AANA Learn to CRNAs across the country. In 1991, he formed Anesthesia Professionals, Inc., one of the first CRNA-owned anesthesia management groups in Alabama which grew to provide anesthesia management services in 26 states and employed over 900 employees. He also serves as President for Lower Alabama Continuing Education Seminars, Inc., (LACES), a continuing education seminar service exclusively for CRNAs offering three seminars each year at the beaches in Gulf Shores Alabama and one at the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center located in Huntsville, Alabama.

    As the first President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists of the 21st century, Hornsby led nurse anesthetists into the new millennium by focusing on the quality, skills, and safety records of his colleagues. In 2001, this led to a change in the federal physician supervision rule that allowed state governors to opt out of the supervision requirement.

    His 30-year career in nurse anesthesia has made him an expert in the business of anesthesia. Because of this, Mr. Hornsby serves as a mentor for many CRNAs and students and as a fundraiser for the CRNA Political Action Committee and the AANA Foundation. He lectures frequently on topics relating to the business of anesthesia for anesthesia schools, state association meetings, and continuing education seminars across the country. In 2013, Mr. Hornsby was selected to receive the Agatha Hodgins Award for Outstanding Accomplishment from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the highest honor bestowed by the organization.

    Mr. Hornsby received his nurse anesthesia and nursing education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama and currently resides in Moody, Alabama with his wife of 36 years and has two adult children, Laura Lesley, a successful business entrepreneur and Drew, a CRNA practicing in Birmingham, Alabama.
